Dumping Experts
Positioning products in foreign markets has been an aspiration of all companies, in all times. Some of them develop dumping strategies, exporting their products at an unusually attractive and low price, often at a loss.
While not illegal, these practices are discouraged by governments through the imposition of antidumping taxes. Within the framework of the World Trade Organization (WTO), countries have agreed on how to proceed in this situation. There is a preliminary investigation of the injured domestic industry, a request for an official investigation, a procedure that involves governments,
importers, and exporters, and a tax at the end of the process that drastically changes the importer's cost equation (and the possibility of sales for the exporter in the targeted foreign market).
Dumping Experts is an academic space composed of professionals and businesspersons whose objective is to disseminate the knowledge of the WTO regulations on dumping and subsidies, to be deeply understood and applied by members of the civil society of the member countries of the WTO.
